As of Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 2:30 p.m., Victoria County reported 5 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. The total number of confirmed cases to date is 137, 34 are suspected community transmission, 80 are recovered and 54 cases are still active. Testing is being done through private labs.
As of 3:30 p.m. today, Victoria County reported 6 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. The total number of confirmed cases to date has been 127, with 47 of those cases still active, meaning they still have the virus. 12 of the patients are in the hospital. 3 of the 12 hospitalized patients are in ICU. 77 of the total 127 have since recovered and 3 have passed away.
Today’s press briefing speaker will be Dr. John McNeill, our local health authority, to give an update on COVID-19 in Victoria County, and to discuss the importance of accurate information and data in making decisions related to COVID-19.
